Company disputes Motorola suit

ITASCA - Shieldmate Robotics Inc. of Itasca is disputing charges by Motorola Inc. that Shieldmate infringed on a trademark and breached a confidentiality agreement. Schaumburg-based Motorola made the allegations in a lawsuit filed last week. The dispute centers on plastic housings made by Shieldmate for one of Motorola's cellular phones, the StarTac. Motorola accuses Shieldmate of violating agreements between the two companies by also producing the plastic housings for a Motorola rival, QualComm.

Advocate forms new company

OAK BROOK - Advocate Health Care announced it is joining Behavioral Health Systems, the University of Illinois and Advocate Medical Group in creating a new company called Advocate Behavioral Health Partners. ABHP will include a comprehensive network of health-care providers, centers and community agencies to offer a range of mental illness and addiction care. Advocate Health Care is based in Oak Brook.

GTE Airfone gets airline contract

OAK BROOK - GTE Airfone Inc. said it signed a letter of intent with Continental Airlines to install GTE Office in the Sky telephones on Continental's 335 airplanes. Installation will begin as soon as a definitive pact is signed. The deal also includes putting the phones on about 50 of Continental's regional aircraft. The Office in the Sky phones allow passengers to make and receive calls, send and receive faxes, access e-mail and other functions. GTE Airfone is based in Oak Brook.
